Mustek MDC800 => umfunktionieren zur Webcam

Hallo..
Ich will meine alte MDC800 zur Webcam umfunktionieren. Dazu habe ichm ir folgendes gedacht: Ein Script catured alle 10 Sekunden ein Bild von der Kamera und verschiebt dieses an den Platz, der in einer html Datei angegeben ist, welche über einen HTTP Server erreichbar ist. So weit, so gut.. Nun weiss ich allerdings nicht, wie man Bilder captured. Meine Digicam scheint von Linux offiziell supported zu werden (mdc800.o ist irgendwo im Modul-Ordner) und auf der gphoto2 Page wird sie auch gelistet.

Nun meine Frage:
Wie kann ich von der MDC800 über USB das momentan sichtbare Bild auf den Computer befördern?
