Bekomme Nvidia Treiber nicht ans laufen

Hi Leute,

ich habe folgendes Problem:

Linux erstmals intalliert, bekomme aber meine GeForce 2 GTS (Asus V7700 Deluxe) nicht mit mehr als 800x600 dpi ans laufen. An 3d-beschleunigung ist gar nicht zu denken. Wenn ich Die kernel und die Treiberdatei von nvidia runtergeladen habe und installiert habe, im rootmodus switch2nvidia ausgeführt habe und load "glx" bei modus in der XF86Config eingefügt habe funktioniert es immer noch nicht. SAX2 kommt zu folgender Fehlermeldung:

Bin ganz neu in Linux und habe keinen blassen Schimmer was ich jetzt machen muss. Ich habe übrigens SuSe Linux in der Version 8.0

habe alles versucht, mittlerweile bekomme ich zwar den Treiber ans laufen, sobald ich aber 3d-Beschleuniger drücke (Häckchen aktiviere) wird der Bildschirm schwarz und ich kann neu starten.

Gehe ich richtig in der Annahme, das du Suse Linux 8.0 verwendest?

Wie hast du denn die Treiber installiert? Hast du die RPM Packete genutzt, oder die Sources (tar oder source-rpm)?

Die "Symbol ... unresolved!" Meldungen kannst Du getrost ignorieren, die treten wegem dem segmentation fault im NVIDIA Treibermodul auf. Die Frage ist, warum tritt dieser überhaupt auf; aus dem Auszug der Logdatei wird das nicht deutlich (es gibt eine Reihe typischer Fehler), ich würde Dir empfehlen, den server noch einmal mit -verbose -logverbose zu starten und die Logdatei dann erneut anzuhängen.

hm, ich kann bislang an deiner XF86Config keine Fehler entdecken. Vielleicht solltest du noch den AGP - Treiber einstellen:

Zu der Device section noch den Befehl Option "NvAGP" "x" für das X kannst du dann (wie auch im How To beschrieben)
0 für keinen AGP support.
1 für Nvidida AGP (schnell, läuft aber nicht überall)
2 für AGP Gart (glaube ich)
