suse 8.0 mit Grub booten

Hallo zusammen,

ich versuch hier grad vergeblich meine suse 8 Partition mit Grub zu booten,
aber irgendwie zeigt er mir immer ne Fehlermeldung das er die Partition nicht
mounten kann. Ich vermute das es am Dateisystem ReiserFS liegt, aber wie
bring ich das dem Grub bei, ich find überall nur infos das es unterstützt wird,
aber muss ich dazu vielleicht nocht irgendwelche befehle extra an Grub übergeben
oder so???

filesystem type cannot be recognized by GRUB.

Scheint so, als ob du keine reiserfs-Unterstützung hättest.

stage1
This is an essential image used for booting up GRUB. Usually, this is embedded in a MBR or the boot sector of a partition. Because a PC boot sector is 512 bytes, the size of this image is exactly 512 bytes.

All stage1 must do is to load Stage 2 or Stage 1.5 from a local disk. Because of the size restriction, stage1 encodes the location of Stage 2 (or Stage 1.5) in a block list format, so it never understand any filesystem structure.

This is the core image of GRUB. This does all things but booting up itself. Usually, this is
put in a filesystem, but that is not required.

embed stage1_5 device
Command

Embed the Stage 1.5 stage1_5 in the sectors after the MBR if device is a drive, or in the boot loader area if device is a FFS partition or a ReiserFS partition.8 Print the number of sectors which stage1_5 occupies, if successful.

Usually, you don't need to run this command directly. See setup.

hallo,

hab mal nach dem embed und stage gesucht und bin auch fündig geworden, aber
wenn ich mit dem Befehl "embed /boot/grub/reiserfs_stage1_5 (hd0)" das stage in
den MBR eintragen lasse kommt das Bootmenü gar nicht mehr, sondern er bleibt beim booten
hängen.

Vielleicht liegt es auch dran, das ich zwei versch. Dateisysteme booten muss, meine
gentoo boot partition (ext2) die ich dem Grub als root übergeben hab bootet er ohne
Probleme, mein Windows 2000 komischerweise auch aber irgendwie mag er die reiserfs
Partion von meinem Suse nicht für die ich keine extra boot partition hab.

Grub hat auch bei dem setup (hd0) automatisch embed /boot/grub/ext2_stage1_5 ausgeführt
hab ich gesehen, anscheinend wird dann nur dieses Dateisystem unterstützt.

hmm.
Wahrscheinlich hast du schon auf der grub-Homepage nachgesehen. Wenn dir da auch nicht geholfen werden kann, könntest du die Frage ja auch direkt an die Entwickler stellen...
