Hallo von einem blutigen Linux Neuling!

Mein System:
Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 64 bit

Folgendes Problem: ich habe das Multifunktionsgerät Canon Pixma MG2550 gekauft und installiert...zumindest als Drucker. Bin einfach auf Drucker und Hinzufügen gegangen und der Treiber wurde problemlos automatisch gefunden. Wie es scheint, wurde jedoch nicht der Treiber für die Scanfunktion mit installiert. Wenn ich SimpleScan öffne und auf Scannen gehe, dann kommt die Fehlermeldung, dass keine Scanner angeschlossen seien.

Habe daraufhin versucht, den Treiber manuell zu installieren. Bin dafür auf http://www.canon.de/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/InkJet/PIXMA_MG_series/PIXMA_MG2550.aspx?type=download&language=DE&os=Linux gegangen und habe dort "MG2500 series ScanGear MP Ver. 2.20 for Linux (debian Packagearchive)" ausgewählt. Das ganze dann entpackt. Habe dann versucht install.sh im Terminal auszuführen...dort ist auch was passiert, aber das Terminal hat sich einfach wieder von selbst geschlossen, ohne dass eine "Abschlussmeldung" kam. Nach einem Neustart wurde immer noch kein Drucker gefunden. Daraufhin bin ich dann in den entpackten Unterordner Packages gegangen und habe dort die erste Paketdatei manuell installiert. Neustart, wieder nix. Habe auch probiert, bei der install.sh nur auf Ausführen zu gehen, da tut sich gar nix.
Ich weiß nicht, ob es hilfreich ist, wenn ich bei der install.sh auf Anzeigen gehe, kommt folgendes:

Ich hoffe wirklich, dass jemand eine Lösung hat. Fühle mich gerade unendlich dumm. Bin eigentlich ein geduldiger Mensch, aber stecke gerade mitten im Umzug und muss bis Freitag ein Dokument für eine Bewerbung einscannen.

Du solltest Sane installieren. Sane (und das GUI Xsane) kennen die meisten Scanner, auch die die in Multifunktionsdruckern verbaut sind.

Nur wenn du den Scanner mit Sane nicht zum Laufen bringst würde ich die proprietäre Software von Canon ausprobieren die auf dem Link genannt wird.

Auf Sane bin ich durch googlen schon gestoßen und habe es installiert - leider erfolglos.

Dann musst du die zweite im Wiki genannte Lösung ausprobieren: die mit dem proprietären Tool.

Auf der Sane HP stand auch dass anscheinend noch keiner deinen Scanner damit ausprobiert hat.
