Hallo!

Habe Probleme beim Einrichten der grafischen Oberfläche an meinem Notebook (Compaq EVO N600C). Habe bis vor kurzem Kanotix installiert und hatte damit auch keine Probleme. Wollte jetzt aber Debian Sarge installieren. Nach der Installation kann der x Server nicht gestartet werden.
Hab bei dir Installation den vesa Treiber ausgewählt und die BIldschirmfrequenzen benutzt, die ein gebootetes Knoppix per mkxfs86config augegeben hat.

hi,

könntest du dir mal die logfiles vornehmen?

oder user-files

~/.xsession-errors

und evtl mal ein

X -probeonly

eingeben?

weitere infos zu den meldungen beim absturz sind hilfreich ,-)

Lag an der Maus!

in der XF86config muss das Maus Device /dev/psaux sein.

Aber wieso startet der ganze X Server nur wegen der Maus nich?

nun ja, macht wahrscheinlich ein wenig sinn, mit tastatur kannst du ja locker auf der console arbeiten ;-).

prima, die logfiles sollten eigentlich immer deine erste anlaufstation sein. oft kann man mit den dort gemeldeten fehlern das problem schon beheben oder zumindest eingrenzen.
