Hi,

habe in einem Debian Sarge Systen (deb Kernel 2.6.8) eine kaputte 250er gegen eine 300GB PLatte ausgetauscht.Die alte Platte wurde korrekt erkannt, bei der 300er zeigt mir fdisk eine Größe von 137.4 Gig an. Das Bios zeigt die richtige Größe, desswegen denk ich es liegt am OS.

Gibts bzw gabs da beim Kernel Beschränkungen oder hat wer sonst einen Tip?

was kann ich da tun, bzw warum kann er den 48bit modus nicht nutzen ???

könnte sein wenn du lilo als bootmanager benutzt das in der lilo.conf der eintrag LBA32 auskommentiert bzw gar nicht vorhanden ist.

also da ist grub drauf kein lilo. das dsmg poste ich wenn ich wieder zugriff drauf habe ..

Google/Linux: "LBA48 A7A266" findet u.a.

ALi does support LBA48 in PIO mode. Right now the choice is
DMA and 137Gb or no DMA and 200Gb, ideally it should be DMA
and fall back to PIO for the top 70Gb, but not yet a while.Schau Dir die Suchergebnisse mal im Detail an.
