IBM Thinkpad Spezialsoftware für Linux?

Hallo Leute!

Ich habe mir vor kurzem ein fettes Thinkpad rausgelassen. ;)

Das Ding läuft standardmäßig mit XP Professional und hat von IBM diverse Tools vorinstalliert, unter anderem eine Software, die die Festplatte bei Erschütterung (Bewegung) des Notebooks abschaltet, um einen Headcrash zu vermeiden.

Diese Funktion ist zu cool, um sie nicht unter Linux zu haben. Weiß jemand, ob es das auch für Linux gibt (egal ob von IBM oder alternativ OS-Produkt)?

Hallo,
unter Debian gibt es für Thinkpads das Paket: tpctl (hab ich seit mehreren
Jahren && Laptopwechsel nicht mehr benutzt). Was das aktuell alles
kann müßtest Du also prüfen.
Aus der Paketbeschreibung:

The main tpctl program, along with its ncurses variant ntpctl, does
under Linux some of the things that PS2.EXE does under DOS and the
ThinkPad Configuration program does under Windows. The apmiser
daemon is an intelligent power expenditure controller.
